Family
Christine Pick advises on separation, divorce, co-habitation, finances and issues concerning children as well as pre-nups and living together agreements, and the related property aspects of family cases.
Christine Pick has over 30 years of experience in general legal practice, including (as well as family law), property trancsactions, farming disputes, and advising elderly people.
If you need advice about family law, we offer a free first interview, of up to 30 minutes and explain the likely costs of your case early on. We ask to agree a payment plan with you at the beginning of your case, and where appropriate ask for a payment on account and ongoing regular payments by standing order.
Christine is a collaborative family lawyer and also works as a mediator. A member of the family lawyers association, Resolution, she follows the code of practice, adopting a firm and fair approach, and avoiding confrontational language which could stir up a dispute or create distrust. Co-operation is promoted as much as possible, but all the time, putting our client's interest first.
Collaborative family law is a way of sorting out arrangements for divorcing or separating couples who would like to avoid a dispute in court proceedings. It can also help couples who would like to continue in their relationship but, for whatever reason, wish to organise their finances and maybe other issues. Collaborative family law works when the other person in the case also asks a collaboratively trained family lawyer to represent them, and both agree not to involve the court.
As well as using collaborative family law, Christine Pick also represents clients using the more traditional approach, and where necessary, in court proceedings.
